Long before he ever crossed paths with a human, Leo’s life was defined by extreme survival. Born into a lion family trapped in poverty, they couldn't afford a home in the vibrant, resource-rich jungle and were instead forced to make a cramped cave their shelter.
The turning point came when a team of scientists chose the surrounding area to test a volatile, experimental new type of dynamite. When the detonation countdown began, the camp was forced into a panicked evacuation. In the chaos and the thunderous shockwaves of the blast, Leo was separated from his family and left behind as the sole survivor. Alone and displaced, he spent years wandering across uncharted terrain, desperate to find a place he could finally call home.
Miles away in civilization, Fred's early life was a sequence of heartbreaking losses. Born to working parents who relied on a monthly babysitter to manage their schedules, Fred's world was upended when a fatal traffic accident took both of their lives. Because they had failed to sign a will transferring their assets to Fred, the money remained locked up, leaving the family unable to pay his babysitter.
Fred was sent to live with his grandparents. When they passed away while he was still young, he found himself entirely on his own. Mature enough to manage his affairs, he secured his own house and embraced a quiet, independent lifestyle centered around video games. But his routine of gaming and peaceful solitude was about to be shattered.
One afternoon, after wrapping up an intense gaming session, hunger drove Fred outside for a peaceful picnic on his property. Instead of lunch, he stumbled upon a wild animal wandering his lawn: Leo.
Overwhelmed by panic, Fred scrambled to grab his gun. What followed was a comically disastrous display of marksmanship—Fred shot, and he shot, and he shot again, completely failing to hit the young lion due to his atrocious aim. Terrified and unwanted once more, Leo bolted back into the safety of the forest, ready to abandon his search for a home for good.
A few days later, Fred decided to take a walk through the woods to clear his head. Deep among the trees, he stumbled upon Leo, sitting alone and crying. The sight instantly melted Fred’s heart, filling him with profound sympathy for the small cub.
Realizing the frightened animal was completely defenseless, Fred made a life-altering decision: he would adopt him as a pet. He believed that if he raised the cub with love and care right from the start, Leo would grow up gentle and loyal. His theory proved completely correct, but it came at a high social cost. Friends and neighbors thought Fred had lost his mind for housing a wild predator, causing him to lose many of his social circles. Despite the isolation, Fred never wavered in his loyalty to Leo.
Years passed, and Leo grew from a vulnerable cub into a massive, powerful adult lion. One day, the peace of their home was brutally interrupted when an uninvited stranger ripped out Fred’s front door and marched right into the house. It was The Wizard—though Fred had no idea who he was or where he came from.
Annoyance quickly turned to fury as the Wizard began using his glowing wand to obliterate household items and furniture he personally disliked. Refusing to let his home be destroyed, Fred decided to fight back through legal channels, officially drawing up and filing a formal lawsuit against the intruder.
Naturally, the Wizard had zero respect for human legal systems. With a flick of his wand, he incinerated the lawsuit paperwork, driving Fred into a blind rage.
Determined to teach the intruder a lesson, Fred brought adult Leo into the living room to fight a personal, physical battle against the magical threat. Leo sprang into action, biting and clawing at the Wizard.
Caught off guard and infuriated by the ferocious counterattack, the Wizard lashed out with his magic, channeling raw energy into his wand and unleashing a devastating zap straight at Leo.
As the smoke clears, the ultimate question remains: Is this where it all ends for our heroes?
